Veggie Garden Collective

Keen veggie gardener or total beginner? We’ll help you grow – no matter your space.

A big thank you to the amazing volunteers who make this possible!

The SC Eco Centre is proud to support the local Veggie Garden Collective, which is run by passionate volunteers where they oversee 6 or more community gardens.

Calling All Gardeners – Keen or Wannabe!
Are you a green-thumbed grower or dreaming of digging into veggie gardening? We’ve got the perfect meet-up for you!

There are various ways you can join in the fun.
1. You are a keen gardener, with your own plot. You have plenty of know-how and extra veggies to share.
2. You want to be a gardener with your own plot, but you don’t know much – you are willing to learn, and give half to the group’s community endeavours.
3. Join them at their volunteer sessions in the community gardens – events posted in their Facebook group.

Who do they support with their vegetable bags?

– Sharing tables around town
– Selected schools and child care centres.

They post on Facebook about their collaborated veggie bags and where they have gone so everybody who donates can see.

The Veggie Garden Collective invites you come along to one of their friendly coffee mornings or afternoon teas, where they talk all things veggie gardening or join them where they get stuck into the mahi.

This is a great opportunity for those that want to learn to grow food – learn along side experienced gardeners, by doing.

Want to volunteer or learn? Find them on Facebook: The Veggie Garden Collective. Karen Gibbs is the key contact.

Let’s grow something good – together!
