March Repair Café Recap

March Repair Café Recap

Our March Repair Café was a hit! With the support of both new and returning volunteers, we were able to offer clothing repairs and alterations, small electrical repairs, and wooden item repairs.

Not everything could be repaired, as some items had simply reached the end of their life – for example, a panel heater. But at least the visitor gave it a go and left knowing for sure that it was beyond repair.

We are now looking for a volunteer with skills and experience in repairing small electrical goods to replace Paul, who has been with us since the very beginning of our Repair Café events. If you could offer your support once a month, or whenever you’re available, we’d love to hear from you. If you have skills in other repair areas, we would also love to add you to our volunteer list as repairs continue to get busier.

A huge thank you to our amazing volunteers – Nigel, Kevin, Paul, Liz and Leysa – for sharing their skills and enthusiasm. The conversations were half the fun, along with the satisfaction of bringing something back to life.

Our next Repair Café session is Sunday 12 April, 10am–12pm.
