Farewell to Rhys Taylor – 10 Years as Trustee

We are sad to farewell Rhys Taylor after an incredible 10 years as a Trustee for the Sustainable South Canterbury Trust. Rhys has given so much of his time, energy, and passion to help shape who we are today – both at the Eco Centre and the Crows Nest – and we are deeply grateful.
For Rhys, some of his standout contributions include:
✨ Establishing the monthly Repair Café alongside passionate volunteers – including his partner Anne – creating a welcoming space where people share their skills, repair instead of replace, and reduce waste for the good of the planet.
✨ Supporting Chris in his role as Biodiversity Facilitator – mirroring his enthusiasm and advocacy for biodiversity has been very uplifting for Rhys.
✨Sustainable education – working with a team to inspire our community to live more sustainably has always been a passion for Rhys and he has enjoyed sharing the role, particularly at the Eco Centre.
Thank you, Rhys, for your incredible volunteer commitment, leadership, and vision. You’ve left a lasting impact, and while we’ll miss you as a Trustee, we know this isn’t goodbye – we look forward to seeing you here as a volunteer. Enjoy a well-earned rest in your new chair!
