We are going to be celebrating Sea Week during Sat. 28 February – Sun. 8 March 2026
As part of the week we are hosting an Eco Talk about our moana. We are looking for 2 – 3 local speakers relating to our own moana. If you or someone you know would be interested please contact Alice admin@scecocentre.org.nz or 0273228177
We are also collaborating with our community to create a programme of events for Sea Week. If your group, school, business or you as an individual are interested in hosting an event contact Alice. We are working on sponsorship for marketing things happening in Timaru during Sea Week.
Ideas you might be able to contribute with – beach clean up, citizen science – Marine Metre Squared or iNaturalist, yoga on the beach, ocean themed crafts, Young Ocean Explorers 21 day challenge for your class, moana movie, kayaking / paddleboarding on the moana, plastic free challenges, guest speakers, visit the Little Blue Penguins …. throw us your ideas.
