During Conservation Week (1st–7th September), we’re on a mission to discover the incredible biodiversity in Timaru – and we need your help!
Upload your observations of plants, birds, insects, and other wildlife onto iNaturalist – a free app and website where you can record nature sightings, share them with others, and get help identifying species. Every record builds a clearer picture of our local environment.
Then, on Saturday 6th September at 2pm, join us at the pond in the Scenic Reserve for a hands-on biodiversity exploration. We’ll work together to record as many species as we can!
Families are welcome on Saturday, and we’d especially love to see families as well as schools getting involved by investigating what lives on their school grounds during Conservation Week. Get in contact if you would like support. We will be sharing more information about iNaturalist leading up to the week.
This event is proudly run in conjunction with Predator Free Timaru.
