Event Type

🌱 Explore nature’s unseen workforce 🌱
Join us for our first Eco Talk of the year with Maria Prince from Arowhenua Native Nursery and Restoration. In the air and under the ground is a secret workforce — beneficial insects and mycorrhizal fungi quietly working to support healthy gardens, crops and soils. Learn how to plan your native food buffet to utilise this free natural asset. A great talk for farmers and lifestylers, with plenty to take home for home gardeners too. Maria brings real-world experience, passion and a commitment to learning. While she humbly says “I’m not an expert,” we’re excited to learn from her insights.

Work with nature, not against it – pre book now!
7pm – 9pm, speaker, Q and A, finishing with supper.
There will be a cover charge of $5 for this event to go towards supper.
Thank you for your support!
This event is part of the South Canterbury Eco Centre’s monthly “Eco Talks”. During the first week of most months we aim to have a presenter, followed by supper. These sessions will be a minimum of $5 per person and can be booked via our website. If you would prefer to pay cash on the night, let us know as we appreciate knowing how many we are catering for – admin@scecocentre.org.nz.
