What if one young person deciding to do something could create change far beyond their own school?
Join us for a special Eco Youth screening of The Plastic Country — a documentary following 25-year-old Australian filmmaker and environmental advocate Kal Glanznig as he investigates the growing plastic crisis.
Kal’s environmental journey began as a teenager. While still at high school, he led a campaign to get solar panels installed at his school, eventually raising $100,000 for a 100kW solar system. His idea went on to inspire other schools to take action too.
Now, Kal is tackling another huge environmental challenge: plastic.
In The Plastic Country, he travels across Australia investigating what happens to the plastic we use — exploring its impact on our oceans, wildlife, ecosystems and human health, and asking some big questions about who is responsible for creating change.
This isn’t just a documentary about a problem. It’s about what happens when young people decide they’re not too young to make a difference.
We’re incredibly grateful to have been given access to share this thought-provoking film with our community.
